Justin B. Terry-Smith, 31, has been an HIV and Gay Civil Rights activist in the Washington DC area since 1998.

 

An Air Force veteran, he was honorably discharged with awards and decorations in 2003.

 

He has served and volunteered in several organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign, Whitman Walker Health and the National Black Justice Coalition.

 

Justin writes and has written for many publications including Black AIDS Institute, thebody.com, GBMNews.com, Baltimore Gay Life, POZIAM Radio and Swerve Magazine. He resides with his husband, Dr. Philip Terry-Smith in Laurel, MD.

 

Justin created ‘Justin’s HIV Journal’ to advocate for HIV/AIDS education, prevention and awareness.

 

In his journal he tells people about the trials and tribulations when it comes to living with HIV/AIDS.

 

He is also the author of the children’s book, “I Have A Secret”, which is a story about a child living with HIV.
